FAQs

Here are the answers to some common questions we are asked. If you can't see your question below, simply get in touch! Email anne@connectpsychotherapy.co.uk today

What happens in a therapy session?

Your first session will be an opportunity for you and your therapist to get to know each other, and to share a bit more about what's going on for you at the moment. If you and your therapist agree CBT could be helpful for you, you will work together on some goals, and then continue to meet and work towards achieving these goals.

Each therapy session lasts for 50 minutes.

How much does a session cost?

One to one therapy costs £50 per session.

A block of wellbeing group sessions costs from £60 per person, depending on the number of sessions.

All fees are payable in advance.

Where do sessions take place?

We have warm and welcoming therapy spaces available in Glasgow City Centre and East Dunbartonshire.
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation, we are currently offering all counselling sessions via telephone or online platforms.

Do you run group counselling sessions as well as one to one?

Yes! We run a range of wellbeing group sessions on a range of different themes, including stress management, self-care, anxiety and low mood. We are currently running our group counselling sessions online, until further notice.

How will I pay for sessions?

Payment for sessions is in advance, via Paypal or bank transfer. Our cancellation policy requires a minimum of 24 hours notice; if less than 24 hours is given then 50% of the session fee will be taken. This is due to the time no longer being available for other clients.

Are sessions confidential?

Yes, confidentiality is of vital importance and any conversations you have with your therapist will remain in the room. The only exception would be if the therapist had concerns about you, or another person - in which case we would have a duty care to seek further advice on this, in line with BACP ethical guidelines.
